The Artist Behind the Work
Mikal's creative journey didn't begin with a camera.
It began with a pencil.
From drawing to writing, from poetry and storytelling to music, Mikal has always looked for different ways to turn the things he sees and feels into something tangible.
Then came photography.
The camera didn't change the artist. It gave the artist another language.
Color. Composition. Texture. Light. People.
Photography opened another door—and eventually became one of the ways Mikal could bring the world he had been imagining onto the page, into the frame, and into the House of Mkali.
